Baroque are grandeur, sensuous, rich, dramatic and depicts vitality, movement, tension, emotional exuberance and a tendency to blur distinctions between various arts. Baroque came to be used to describe anything irregular, bizarre or otherwise departing from established rules and proportions.

DESIGN PROCESS

First, a research was done about Baroque look, including architecture and elements.

Keywords through mind-mapping and a mood board was created. Most of the reference was taken from Baroque Architecture.

It progressed with sketching out a few initial designs and concepts to have a direction of what the artwork can look like.

Then, motifs were sketched based on collected inspiration pictures. It involved scrolls, trophies, ornamental elements and architectural elements. A background using water color to fill up motifs with the same effect, was painted.

Detailing of final motifs was done using color pencils to give them a more dramatic and appealing look. Then final design was forged in Photoshop involving completion of motifs, development of sample repeats and the final artwork.

The design is best suited for upholstery, curtains, wallpaper, bedding & carpets.
